New things made old? Or is it old things made new again? It’s a saying we’ve all heard at some point. But what does it mean ‘round these parts?
It’s really rather simple. It’s something that’s been around for quite a while. Many, many years. All the way back to the Egyptians. Soap. Or, at least that’s where we’re starting.
Let me rewind things a little bit and tell you how we got here.
One day at the store, we were standing in the soap aisle trying to decide one over the other. It should be that hard of a decision. But there we were trying to pick and choose between one that smelled good with a long list of big scientific ingredients, or one with a simple list of easy to say ingredients that smelled like what someone would try to wash off.
What’s a guy or gal to do at this point?
That’s when one of us had an inspired thought enter into our mind that we can do better.
So we looked into what it would take to start manufacturing soap. But, with a twist. The ingredients would be easy to pronounce and it would smell good.
Okay, so back to the old made new or new made old idea.
Our process is pretty simple. We wanted something that would be made by hand, using a time-tested process to produce a high-quality bar of soap.
We like to think we’ve achieved just that. Making it by hand ensures a higher standard for each small batch made. And, knowing that each batch is handmade gives it a special vintage feel.
What we’re trying to revive is the nostalgic way of doing business. It’s more than going old school. It’s a throwback to yesteryear when times and things were simpler.
It was also a thing back then when it was important to give back to your community. Which we’re adopting here at Ol 76 Supply Co. by donating a portion of all proceeds to a veteran cause.
Before we get too off topic, we’re just going to wrap things up by saying thank you.
At Ol 76 Supply Co. we make things by hand, and we make them in America.
